#20 Stained Glass Windows
This hall was the first of the “Melville Brothers” halls to open, going into service on May 24, 1904. As the hall was located across the street from the main Canadian Pacific Railway station, it was designed to provide a positive first impression for newly arriving immigrants; that Winnipeg was a prosperous city of opportunity.
This hall has a number of extra features not found in the other halls of the period, including leaded glass in the upper sections of the windows, cresting along all of the roof’s ridges, and a bay window in the second-floor sitting room.
