#29 Sports Camaraderie Amongst Firefighters
Baseball bats, gloves and balls, boxing gloves, barbells, and ping pong or pool tables were commonplace at early fire halls.
With long hours of waiting for the call of the fire alarm, the need to maintain a high standard of physical fitness, and the necessity to find ways to reduce workplace stress, firefighters would engage in a wide range of activities during both their leisure and working hours.
